Wednesday 4th November 2026 | Priory Rooms, Birmingham
Do emerging challenges require new groundwater modelling approaches and tools?
Groundwater Modellers’ Forum 2026 is now scheduled for 4th November! We are inviting presentations that showcase groundwater modelling methods to address upcoming challenges and strategic decisions.
Our approaches to groundwater modelling need to face modern challenges such as climate change, emerging contaminants, ground-source heating and growing water demands including data centres and mineral developments. These approaches may need to embrace uncertainty-based modelling rather than determinism and expectation of zero-risk, and consider new technologies such as artificial intelligence. In some cases, new technologies will be required, while in others, tried and tested solutions may address new challenges.
Please submit abstracts, up to 300 words, on topics relating to emerging challenges or technologies by the 24th of July: submit to christopher.barry@wsp.com.
Venue
We will be in central Birmingham (Priory Rooms, Bull Street) for both events. We include an option to attend online for the conference on the second day, but not for the training day. Although in-person interaction is very valuable, we are keen to open the conference to those for whom travel is difficult, or who are located overseas. For bookings, please complete the form below, taking care to select In-Person or Remote. In-Person bookings have a carbon offset fee of £1.12, which will go towards a United Nations carbon offset scheme (link).
