Lockdown Event And 2020AGM

The final Lockdown Event of 2020 will be held on ZOOM between 4 and 6pm on the 17th December.

After a successful series of Zoom meetings during the Summer, the Hydrogeology Group are pleased to host an end of year event incorporating a cut down AGM within a programme of items and, dare we say it, an end of year celebration.

The event will consist of five 10minute talks, followed by a brief AGM of the Group, and finishing with a BYO Wine Reception.

Introduction

Meyrick Gough (Southern Water) – Changes and Advances in Water Resource Planning – (provisional title)

Holly Small (Mott MacDonald) – Early Career perspectives on remote working

Sarah Scott (Environment Agency) – An update on deep subsurface activities

Alastair Black (Groundwater Science) – Advances in Capture Zone delineation and visualisation: FlowSource for MODFLOW6

Ellie Mathewson (BGS) – The future of open (hydro)geological data in the UK

A brief Hydrogroup AGM

Please note: with the notable exception of the Zoom meetings, the many Hydrogeology Group activities have been severely curtailed this year for obvious reasons. As such, and consistent with our constitution, we are extending the tenure of the existing committee for an additional year. The constitution states that tenure is “not normally more than three years consecutively”; the present circumstances certainly seem sufficiently “not normal”. As such, those members due to retire this year have all kindly agreed to stay on for an additional year. Normal service will hopefully be resumed in happier circumstances in 2021 when we look forward to seeing you at a face to face AGM at Burlington House and when we should be able to bring new people onto the committee.
